French Riviera Sunlight invites you into the serene ground floor of a grand chateau, where time seems to have paused — perhaps for centuries. In contrast to its timelessness, sunlight spills through the tall windows like clockwork, dancing on black-and-white tiles and arched ceilings, creating a contrast that captures both elegance and familiarity. The warmth of the French Riviera’s golden light bounces around the canvas itself, as if you could smell the warm sea-kissed air just outside on the grounds.

My goal for this piece was to blend the various feelings associated with the location, namely its centuries-old sophistication and the tranquil allure of Mediterranean living.
